Genesis: Chapter 2

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. So God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made earth and heaven. Now no shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the Lord God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground. But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground.

Quran 7:54-59:

And your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Quran 62:9:

O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.

Quran 30:48:

Allah is the one who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds, and He spreads them in the sky however He wills and makes them fragments so you see the rain emerge from within them. And when He causes it to fall upon whom He wills of His servants, immediately they rejoice.

  1. Thus, the heavens, the earth, and all their array were created.
  2. And on the seventh day, Allah completed His work which He had begun; and He ceased on the seventh day from all His work which He had begun.
  3. And Allah blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on it He had ceased from all His work which He had created and begun.
  4. These are the accounts of the heavens and the earth when they were created, on the day that the Lord Allah brought forth the earth and the heavens.
  5. Every plant of the field had not yet sprung up from the earth, and every herb of the field had not yet grown, for the Lord Allah had not yet brought rain upon the earth, and there was no one to cultivate the ground.
  6. Instead, a mist rose from the earth and watered the entire surface of the ground.
  7. Then Lord Allah molded Adam from the dust of the ground, then breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and Adam came alive as a living human being.
  8. Then Lord Allah planted a garden in the east, in Eden, and there He placed Adam, whom He had formed.
  9. From the ground, the Lord Allah caused every tree that is pleasing to the eye and good for food to grow, including the tree of test situated in the middle of the garden.
  10. A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided into four rivers.
  11. The first river is called Pison, and it flows around the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.
  12. The gold of that land is of high quality, and there are also resin and onyx stone.
  13. The second river is named Gihon, and it encircles the entire land of Ethiopia.
  14. The third river is called Hiddekel, and it flows eastward toward Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
  15. The Lord Allah took Adam and placed him in the garden of Eden to cultivate it and take care of it.
  16. And the Lord Allah commanded the man, saying, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden,
  17. but you must not eat from the tree of the test, for when you eat from it, you will surely perish."
  18. And the Lord Allah said, "It is not good for Adam to be alone; I will make a companion for him."
  19. From the ground, the Lord Allah formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and He brought them to Adam to see what he would name them. Whatever Adam called each living creature, that became its name.
  20. Adam gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam, there was no suitable companion found among them.
  21. The Lord Allah caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and while he slept, He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh where it had been taken from.
  22. The rib that the Lord Allah had taken from Adam, He formed into a woman and brought her to Adam.
  23. Adam declared, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."
  24. Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and be united with his wife, and they shall become one couple.
  25. And they both ate from the tree of test, and as a result, Adam and his wife became aware of their nakedness and felt ashamed.
