10 COMMANDMENT OF MOSES IN QURAN

10 COMMANDMENT OF MOSES IN QURAN
HOME ABOUT US MY PRAYERS AGE OF AISHA R.A CHAPTER 1

[C.1] The Ten Commandments, also known as the Decalogue, are mentioned in the Torah in the book of Exodus, specifically in Exodus 20:1-17, and are also reiterated in Deuteronomy 5:6-21. These passages outline the fundamental laws and principles that form the basis of the moral and ethical code in Judaism and Christianity. We will be discussing here with Quranic references one by one in comparison. Many Christians claimed Quran is a fake book and there are no references of 10 commandments of Moses pbuh (Musa a.s) in Quran. Hence my little effort in bringing the truth on this page.

Commandment #1:

Exodus 20:3

Deuteronomy 5:7

"You shall have no other gods before me."

[C.2] I worship Allah s.w.t, the unseen God of Adam (peace be upon him). What deity do you worship? Christians claim to have a triune godhead consisting of an imaginary Father, a Spirit Dove, and a visible Jesus as God, totaling three beings of a god. However, it's important to note that angels, demons, and human souls are all considered spirits. So, which spirit was hovering above the waters in Genesis 1:2? Let me share some Quranic verses with their Arabic scripts and translations.

Quran 47:19

"So know that there is no deity except Allah, and seek forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women. And Allah knows your movement and your resting place."

Quran 42:11

"Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves mates, and among the cattle mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing."

Quran 112:1-4

"Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.""

Commandment #2:

Exodus 20:4

Deuteronomy 5:8

"You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."

[C.3] I don't venerate any images, whether it's the Kaaba or the black stone. Despite claims from some Christians that we worship the Kaaba and the black stone akin to the pre-Arabic idol god Baal, I reject such notions. They've made crosses, crucifixes with Jesus, various depictions of Jesus, and these are marketed for sale. Christians feel the need to purchase items to place before them in worship of their God, who they believe was born from a woman's womb. This notion is the height of blasphemy, suggesting that God could be born as a vulnerable child. While images and idols abound in churches, you won't find any in mosques, underscoring Islam's rejection of idol worship compared to Christianity. Let me share some Quranic verses with their Arabic scripts and translations.

Quran 14:35

"And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshiping idols."

Quran 31:13

"And [mention] when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice.""

Quran 72:18

"And that the mosques are for Allah (alone), so do not invoke anyone with Allah."

Quran 5:72

"Indeed, those who have said, 'Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary,' have certainly disbelieved. The Messiah said, 'O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' Indeed, whoever associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers."

Commandment #3:

Exodus 20:7

Deuteronomy 5:11

"You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain."

[C.4] I refrain from misusing the name of my Creator, Allah (SWT). However, Christians engage in such misuse by asserting that Jesus is their creator, believing that faith alone, without good deeds, is sufficient, and claiming that their god died for 36 hours, from Friday night to Sunday morning, yet refer to it as three days and three nights. This notion grants them a perceived free pass to sin, regardless of past, present, or future actions. Moreover, they do not solely worship the Father; rather, they believe in a Father who has supposedly begotten a son. This notion is blasphemous, as it implies that God "begets" instead of "creates," which insinuates a form of procreation. Additionally, it raises questions: Why just one son? Does this imply that the Father's organ ceased to procreate after begetting one son? The term "beget" suggests a sexual act, indirectly implying that God required such an act to have a child. This is a slanderous notion, as it overlooks the fact that God created Adam (PBUH) without the need for both parents, a far greater miracle. Despite this, Adam (PBUH) was never referred to as God's son. The Quranic verse below serves as a reminder of these truths.

Quran 2:224

"And do not make Allah a target for your oaths, thus preventing you from being righteous and conscientious and making peace among people. And know that Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing."

Commandment #4:

Exodus 20:8

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

Deuteronomy 5:12

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you."

[C.5] Keep the Sabbath day holy by remembering it. Work for six days and rest on the seventh day. Jews observe worship from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, honoring YHWH as the true Creator. Muslims worship from Thursday sunset to Friday sunset, venerating Allah SWT, the true Creator, also known as YHWH by Jews. Jesus, being of Jewish descent and a follower of Islam in faith, worshipped YHWH as the Father. What do Christians do? They dance on Sunday mornings, consuming wine and pork sausage, commemorating a ceremony where someone supposedly took away their sins and died?

[C.6] Here's a Quranic reference indicating that Muslims were commanded to pray on Friday, not Saturday, as each nation was given a designated day. For Jews, it is Saturday, as mentioned in the Torah. Christians cannot prove from the New Testament that Jesus commanded them to worship him instead of God on Sunday morning. God, however, ordered us to exert every effort and cease all activities to attend the congregational prayer on Friday. After that, Muslims may tend to their businesses during the rest of the day, which serves as an equivalent Sabbath for Muslims.

Quran 16:124

"Indeed, the Sabbath was appointed only for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ."

Quran 62:9

"O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew."

Commandment #5:

Exodus 20:12

"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you."

Deuteronomy 5:16

"Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, so that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you on the land which the Lord your God gives you."

[C.7] Certainly, It's important to approach discussions about religious figures with sensitivity and respect. In Christianity, Mary (Peace be upon her), the mother of Jesus (Peace be upon him), holds a revered position as the mother of the Messiah. While some Christian denominations may have differing interpretations of certain passages, the overarching message is one of reverence and respect for Mary's role in the birth of Jesus (Peace be upon him).

[C.8] In the New Testament, there are instances where Jesus (Peace be upon him) refers to Mary (Peace be upon her) as "woman," such as at the wedding in Cana (John 2:4) and during his crucifixion (John 19:26). However, it's crucial to note that the cultural context of these times may influence the meaning and tone of such language. It's also important to remember that Jesus (Peace be upon him) demonstrated care and compassion for his mother throughout his life, including ensuring her well-being before his death (John 19:26-27).

[C.9] While interpretations may vary, the intent of these passages is often understood as a demonstration of Jesus' divine mission rather than disrespect towards Mary (Peace be upon her). Additionally, many Christians hold Mary (Peace be upon her) in high esteem and honor her as the mother of Jesus (Peace be upon him) and an exemplary figure of faith.

[C.10] It's also worth acknowledging the importance of honoring and respecting parents in Islam, as commanded in the Quran and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This shared value emphasizes the significance of familial relationships and the importance of treating parents with kindness and reverence.

[C.11] Ultimately, discussions about religious figures should be approached with empathy, understanding, and a willingness to engage in respectful dialogue. Christians may not fully grasp the reality, asserting that nothing is beyond God's power. In our faith, we hold the wives of our Prophet in such high regard that we consider them akin to mothers of all Muslims. I firmly believe that Mary, peace be upon her, never worshiped her own son, despite him being born from her own womb as fully God in flesh. The Quranic verse below serves as a reminder of these truths.

Quran 17:23

"And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word."

Commandments #6, #7, #8, #9:

Exodus 20:13

Deuteronomy 5:17

"You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

[C.12] Early Christians expanded one verse into four separate commands, though in the Tenakh, these are all part of a single commandment. Their scripture simply prohibits murder, theft, bearing false witness, or committing adultery without outlining consequences if a Christian violates these commands. It's possible that Christians believe Jesus absolved them of all sins, regardless of their actions, since they consider him to be their god. In Islam, there are predetermined punishments for Muslims who transgress these commandments.

Quran 5:32

"For that reason, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors."

Quran 5:38

"And [as for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise."

Quran 2:283

"And if you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe, then a security deposit [should be] taken. And if one of you entrusts another, then let him who is entrusted discharge his trust [faithfully] and let him fear Allah, his Lord. And do not conceal testimony, for whoever conceals it - his heart is indeed sinful, and Allah is Knowing of what you do."

Commandment #10:

Exodus 20:14

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Deuteronomy 5:18

"You shall not covet your neighbor's wife; you shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field, his male servant, his female servant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Quran 17:32

"And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way."

[C.13] Here, we're presented with a simple directive once again. There's no promise of reward for those who refrain, nor is there a threat of punishment for those who don't. It's as though a Christian who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife and believes in Jesus' sacrifice assumes that Jesus' death of 36 hours has already absolved his sins. The Quranic verses below serves as a reminder of these truths.

Quran 4:32

"And do not covet that by which Allah has favored some of you over others. For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned. And ask Allah of His bounty. Indeed, Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing."

Quran 4:36

"Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and show kindness to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the distant neighbor, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who covetously boast."
